Biography:

Barry Davis is a senior member of Moglia Advisors.  He has over 25 years of experience in financial and operational audits, banking, corporate finance, corporate accounting, portfolio management, loan review, credit analysis, and new business development.

Throughout his career in industry, Barry has led financial initiatives including pinpointing problem areas and refocusing companies on growing their net income, restructuring loans utilizing credit skills developed at major banking companies, actively managing loan portfolios for different banks (Cole Taylor Bank and U.S. Bank) and leading audits of various clients of banking and certified public accounting firms.  He has served as internal auditor for Sears Roebuck & Company and in senior positions with major financial institutions such as Citicorp, Bank of America and Sanwa Business Credit.  Barry has held CFO and vice president of finance positions with international companies such as Lodan Electronics and Commodities Management Exchange.

Barry also has extensive experience in marshalling of assets, negotiating with creditors, reviewing claims and negotiating the sale of assets, both within the bankruptcy context and in out-of-court procedures, such as assignments for the benefit of creditors.  In the National Liquid Packaging matter, he acted as on-site management in the gradual wind-down of business operations and the orderly sale of assets for this business. In the Gilmart bankruptcy, he provided on-site management expertise and reporting capabilities on behalf of the Chapter 11 trustee.

In the Pasquinelli Homebuilding LLC matter, Barry has traced cash transactions, reviewed asset transfer records, cash management systems and related documents. Barry has negotiated multiple sales of assets to buyers in the U.S. and abroad on behalf of or for the benefit of creditors of a telecommunications service provider and has actively negotiated with lenders, creditors and parties in interest in numerous distressed-company situations.

Barry has an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado, a BA in Accounting/Psychology from St. Mary’s College, Winona, MN, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
